LOVING TO TRAIN WITH THE ONES YOU LOVE IS TRULY A QUARANTINE CHRISTMAS
I can go on and on about how being on lock-down, locked up and "quarantined" makes me feel. However, I'll use this time to highlight something just as important - TRAINING.
Keeping active, working out, sweating, eating right and having an overall mindset of gratitude. This is what I'm getting from this very important time of reflection, introspection and soul-searching.
While my other children have vastly different proclivities in doing what makes them happy; aside from the actual physical aspect of fighting, they all love to be fit. Be it exercising, hitting the bag, or sparring, we all enjoy our time together and don't take for granted the little luxuries in life.
While it's true, we'd all like to have things in the world operating as it was before being on quarantine mode; we understand that with bad, comes good, and vice versa. We're not happy with what the world is going through, but we're very happy that we're all going through it together. When it comes to family, I'd rather be locked up together than apart.
For me, I was born and raised in an atmosphere of fitness, fighting, training, learning, growing and the like. So when I'm not active, I feel as if though I'm decaying. Don't get me wrong, I'm under no delusion. I'm fully aware of the law of atrophy, but so long as you're "living" it's a good idea to keep yourself in the best shape as possible.
"So what's with the image (above)?" Great question.
While I love working out, and do so every day; there's no better feeling for me, than to train with my big boy, my main man, my firstborn, my gift - my son. We train every moment we get. Now that he's 20 years old, getting punched by him in sparring, is nooooooo way nearly how it was when he was younger! But at the end of the day, we get some good, hard rounds in!
I definitely can't tell you what to do. However, if I can make two suggestions: 1. Keep active and work out as often as you possibly can. 2. Spend as much quality time with your kids, because before you know it, they're off and living their "own" lives (without you).
Stay fit. Take care of your body - it's the only one you have.
